Typhon's Wake by ~frostbitedude "This animated short film uses a unique combination of Maya, hand-drawn, and After Effects compositing to create a well-animated story. The animation is well-vested in the principles of animation, and the narrative seems well researched. Truly a good use of five minutes!"

This is the senior thesis film that me and two of my peers made at the Kansas City Art Institute. It is the story of a boy and his feathered companion and how they are trying to get back into the city that they have been rejected from. The solution: kill a giant worm that has been terrorizing the city.

Here is a quick breakdown of what each of us was responsible for in the film:

Andy Alberto, (Me, frostbitedude): All 3d aspects of film, all compositing, All 3d backgrounds, character design and development of worm, special effects.

Casey Parkhurst, (Parkhurst): 2d boy character, 2d architecture, 2d interior backgrounds, crowd character designs.

Brandon Waltman, (biggins23): 2d bird character, 2d exterior backgrounds, matte paintings, crowd character designs.

Jon Vandergriff: Music

Hank Braxtan: Sound Mix

Jon and Hank did a fantastic job working with us and fitting into our schedule and deadlines for the film. Many thanks!

So much fun!  I truly enjoyed the western-esque melody that fit the feel of the world. The whole thing was great!
